Anointed You With The Oil Of Gladness…

When we think of Jesus Christ as the Lord, the King of kings, what does that look like? As the King of all kings He would be sitting on a throne and dressed in the finest of garments. Yes?

We should all have our “image” of Jesus Christ so that when we visit with Him there is someone there for us to converse. But, when we see Jesus as the King, would that be a completely different image or would it be the same image as when we are engaged in prayer and meditation?

Thou art fairer than the children of men:
Grace is poured into Your lips: Therefore God has blessed You for ever.
Gird Your sword upon Your thigh, O most mighty,
With Your glory and Your majesty.
And in Your majesty ride prosperously
Because of truth and meekness and righteousness; And Your right hand shall teach You great things.
Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies;
Whereby the people fall under You. ~ Psalm 45:2-5 KJB

We serve a Mighty God who is blessed forever and ever. He shall Teach us with righteousness and honor and we shall, in turn, give to Him all praise, honor and glory for His mighty works through this vessel. For it is through His works performed in us that make all things and all things real.

Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever:
The sceptre of Your kingdom is a right sceptre.
Thou loves righteousness, and hates wickedness:
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows.
All Your garments are scented of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia,
Out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made You glad. ~ Psalm 45:6-8 KJB

The King has taken His rightful place. Jesus is anointed, He is clothed like no other and His reign is forever and ever. Jesus Christ rules with gladness above all else and His judgements are righteous.

In our day-to-day lives it is not uncommon that we encounter authority figures. We give them the respect they are due for their position. The honor and glory we show to our Lord should be constant, it should be with gladness and it should be with fear of the living God. We are in the presence of the Most High and we should act like it all the time. We should always remember who we serve, who saved our wretched lives from the fire and the One that speaks for us. Jesus Christ, the name above all names, is my King and I bow to Him and Him alone.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
